Proceeding Of The Dissemination Workshop – Agricultural Investors As Development Actors (AIDA)

Project Summary

AIDA is a collaborative research programme (March 2016– August 2024). AIDA examined the development outcomes of foreign agricultural investments at sub-national level for people living in and using land in their vicinity, using Danish agricultural investments and their location in Tanzania and Uganda as the case and geographical starting point. In particular, AIDA focused on the development outcomes with respect to employment, land tenure security and water security. The project coordinated by Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS) and funded through a grant provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark (MFA). AIDA was carried out by a group of researchers from Makerere University, Kampala (Uganda), Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), College of Economics and Business Studies, (Tanzania), University of Copenhagen (Denmark), and Danish Institute for International Studies, Copenhagen (Denmark). The final dissemination workshop for Tanzania was held on 17th November 2023 in Iringa.
