TRAINING ON INFORMED CONSENT AND HUMAN RESEARCH SUBJECT PROTECTION
One of the SUA obkigation is conduct research in Agriculture and Allied sciences for development of the sector and community at local, regional, national and global perspective. College of Economics and Business Studies (CoEBS) saw a need to coducted a training on Friday 28th January at CoEBS seminar room, with the purpose of provide awareness and knowledge to researchers on the ethical and regulatory responsibilities for protecting the welfare and interests of the Human subject. The training was designed to benefit both Junior & Senior Researchers (Academic staff, MSc,& PhD). It outlined the regulations, guidelines and processes for conducting research with Human subject. It offered an introduction to the processes and wider factors which need to be taken into consideration when involving participants in research.
Dr. Doreen Ndossi from Direcotrate of Postgraduate Studies Research Technology Transfer Consultancy (DPRTC) at SUA was the guest of honor. She gave out her openining remarks by state out a need to protect the involved individuals, communities and nations from the risk related to research. and awarenes on SUA Code of Conduct for Research Ethics.
