This activity was organized by the FAO’s Technical Cooperation Programme (TCP) and held in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 13–16 January 2025. The training program aimed to strengthen Southern Africa’s national and regional capacities in trade policy development, monitoring, and analysis, with particular emphasis on: (i) improving access to existing trade and trade policy information/databases; (ii) monitoring trade flows and trade policy changes at regional and global levels, including developments in the RECs and AfCFTA implementation, and other measures of trading partners; and (iii) undertaking analytical studies on agricultural trade and market-related policy issues.
